Digital Anarchy is a privately owned company in San Francisco, CA that creates smart image enhancement software for video editors, broadcast designers and photographers. These tools let you spend less time processing images and more time on creative work, solving issues from skin smoothing to flicker removal and more. We are creative thinkers who are committed to providing great products that help you easily solve problems.
Digital Anarchy products work in Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve, Avid, Assimilate Scratch, Sony Vegas, FilmMaster, NUKE, and Photoshop.
We operate the way our customers do: Work hard, think fast, and control the chaos. The name 'Digital Anarchy' was taken from someone's description of the Internet in the late '90's. It's a good description of our philosophy. 'Anarchy' embodies a sense of constant, rapid change, as we look for new, creative ideas to help designers and photographers.
After a decade in the software industry, our company president, Jim Tierney, struck out on his own. In April 2001, he released Digital Anarchy's first After Effects product, Elements of Anarchy: Text, developed by co-founder and ex-ILM programmer, Garrick Meeker. The company added more video and animation products each year and in 2004, moved into developing Photoshop and digital photography plugins. We've continued to add ground breaking products to both our video and photo product lines.
