Cel-Shaded Cartoons.

Styles add a second layer of detail over the cartoon effect that you have chosen. They set the type of rotoscoping algorithm used by ToonIt! Photo and gives you options to control the appearance and behavior of the cartoon.

The Styles that you will spend most of your time in are the ones that resemble a traditional hand-drawn cartoon. Their settings determine how many levels of shade a color will break down into, and how wide or detailed those color fields will be in your cartoon.

It's always fun seeing a cartoon become, well, more cartoonish, so let's explore the three main Styles.

Flat Shaded Style.

The Flat Shaded Style creates a pure cartoon look. Flat Shaded is the meat n' potatoes of ToonIt! and the default Style setting. You will spend most of your time here. In Flat Shaded, we’re using Simplicity and Flatness to define the cartoon’s color regions.

Flat Shaded with Flatness at 3 and Simplicity at 5.

Flat Detailed Style.

Flat Detailed creates a more stylized rotoscoped cartoon. In Flat Detailed, we're using Strength and Level controls to affect how many color fields the cartoon breaks down into.

No Roto Style.

No Roto generates a minimalist cartoon-type smoothing. Its results are close to a low Flat Details setting. There are no controls in the No Roto group; it's a WYSIWYG style.

The purpose of No Roto Style is to let you access the main color controls -- the ones in the Blur/Color tab -- without any stylization layered over.
