Using the Presets List.

Presets are premade combinations of light elements. Light Factory 3.0 ships with over 100 presets to get you quickly started with your design.

Of these 110 presets, about 50 are new to version 3.0. We've doubled the fun! The presets for Knoll Light Factory appear in a thumbnail list on the left side of the interface, called the Preset List.

You don’t need to keep the elements that load into your Preview Window. Rather, use them as a starting point for your own design.

Once the preset is loaded, you can manipulate its elements by adding, deleting, reordering, and editing properties. As soon as you begin to modify a preset, the preset no longer exists. You are quickly on your way to creating your own custom preset!

Save & Load presets.

Saving and loading presets is pretty darn easy. To save a Preset, click the ‘Save...’ button after you create a flare that you really enjoy. You will be prompted by a Save dialog to name your flare and choose a saving location.

Light Factory presets are saved with the proprietary ‘.lfp’ file extension. The Save dialog defaults to saving within the Custom Lenses folder. You can save your own presets anywhere you'd like on your hard drive, but we recommend using this folder for ease of use.

If you need to load a flare preset file from another part of your system, click the ‘Load...’ button. This will bring up a loading dialog from which you can navigate to your .lfp file and load it into Knoll.
