Add randomness to your life.
As with most good things in life, the Geomancy plugins are full of randomness. A ‘Randomness’ parameter varies the value of the parameter it is associated with.
Randomness allows you to avoid setting keyframes or labor over visual choices. This can lead to a quicker, more organic looking composition.

An example of randomness.
Want a good example of what Randomness does? Let's take a look at the 'Opacity' and 'Opacity Randomness' sliders in the HairLines plugin.

Let's say our line 'Opacity' is set to 50. You set the 'Randomness' to 50%. This means each line particle would get a value between 25 and 75 (50 + or - 50%... or 25, which is half of 50).
It's very easy to add in _just_ the right amount of Randomness you want. Randomize a little bit or go all over the place.

The 'Opacity Randomness' is at 0, making every line the same 'Opacity'. |
 |

The 'Opacity Randomness' is set to 50, which gives variety to the lines. |
 |

The 'Opacity Randomness' is at 100, giving a major shift in 'Opacity' per line. |

Parameters up the wazzoo.
The 'Randomness' sliders come in amazingly handy when you're trying to just 'break things up a bit'. Grab the slider, scrub to find the variations you like, and you're done.
Of course, Randomness does increase the number of parameters in a Geomancy (or Text Anarchy) plugin. This can make the plugin look a bit more daunting than it really is. Check out some of our intro tutorials and you'll be fine.
