Digital Anarchy :: Smart tools for creative minds.
About Us

About Digital Anarchy.

The name 'Digital Anarchy' was taken from someone's description of the Internet in the late '90's. It's a pretty good description of our philosophy. We like change. As a word or concept, 'anarchy' embodies that sense of constant, rapid change.

How does 'anarchy' apply to us? We're constantly coming out with new products. We're always looking for new things to start working on. We find the new waves to ride and look to create our own waves that designers and photographers can ride.

We work as hard as you do.

Digital Anarchy was created in 2001 to develop high quality filters at a reasonable price. We release filters in small sets that are grouped together by similarity in functions. This allows you to get the filters you need without having to purchase a bunch of filters that you don't need.

We're a small company. We do our best to come out with good software and to provide excellent support. We hope that people see how hard we work and realize they should pay for the software they use.

If you use our filters, especially for paid work, please support the people who help you to do your job quicker and better. We're always open to suggestions, comments and requests.

A brief history of Anarchy.

After a decade in the software industry, our company president, Jim Tierney, struck out on his own. By April 2001, he released his first Adobe After Effects product, Elements of Anarchy: Text. By the end of that year, Jim had released two more After Effects plugin sets. Digital Anarchy was official.

In 2003, the company added support for Apple's Final Cut Pro. Digital Anarchy continued to grow, adding more video and animation products each year. By 2004, we opened up a second side to the business serving up Photoshop plugins.

In 2008, we sold off our extensive video plugins to better concentrate on our Photoshop product line. As 2010 nears, we are re-entering the video makert with renewed vigor and a great new product.

Digital Anarchy is still a privately owned company that operates the way our customers do: Work hard, think fast, and control the chaos.

Digital Anarchy is part of a coalition of software developers called the Plugin Pavilion. You can find us sharing booth space at trade shows and conventions. We are all privately owned companies that develop technologies to make your work easier and more fun.
