Create 3D Objects with the 3D Invigorator Plugin for Adobe Photoshop

The 3D Invigorator interface.

When you first apply 3D Invigorator, a custom interface opens up. You can set up your scene with different previews, camera positions and background settings. There are 3D tools, material swatches, and light and 3D object palettes. This page gives a brief overview of the Invigorator controls.

Setting up your 3D scene.

There are three preview modes for moving around in Invigorator's 3D environment.

  • Camera Mode to move the 3D camera around.
  • Light Mode to change the scene's lighting.
  • Object Mode to move the 3D objects around.

Use the Camera tools to set up your scene. These five tools will move your object, light or camera along the X-, Y- and Z-axes of the 3D scene.

  • Tumble Tool to rotate the camera or objects.
  • Roll Tool to tilt them.
  • Track Tool to move side to side or up and down.
  • Dolly Tool to move in/out.
  • Scaling Tool to change the size.

The Objects panels.

So you've got some 3D objects. What are you gonna do with them? Well, lots when you're in 3D Invigorator.

You can customize the shape of the 3D objects with the Objects panel.

The Objects panel is context sensitive. The options change depending upon whether you have selected a text object, primitive object or vector import. Read more.

Materials & Style palettes.

Material Swatch contains colors, texture maps and rendering styles.

Material swatches are pretty smart. Let' say you have multiple objects in your 3D design that use the same material swatch. When you change the swatch, you will update all of the objects at once.

To edit or create additional material swatches, use the Material Editor panel. Read more.

Object Style palette.

An Object Style contains all the settings of an object. All the materials, edge profiles, depth settings, etc, are saved as a style so you can quickly apply an existing style to your objects, or save your own object styles for future projects. Read more.

The Light Editor.

You can easily light your 3D scene, just like in a 3D applciation.

Set the lighting by creating multiple lights that illuminate from different angles. You can set up the light colors, angles and intensity. Each light can be saved as a light swatch. Read more.
